How to Save Money on Transportation

*Carpool as often as you can.

*Keep tires properly inflated as much as you can. This can cause a 3.3% improvement on gas mileage.

*Bike more often.

*Regular maintenance.

*Take a bus.

*Buy a more fuel-efficient car, or a hybrid.

*Idling is unnecessary; only idle for around 30 seconds to warm up your car.

*Aggressive driving will lower your mpg average down by around 33%.

*Do not drive over 100km/h (60 mph) as any speed above that severely decreases your mpg estimate.

*Use cruise control on the highway as it avoids unnecessary acceleration.

*Use your car manufactures recommended oil as using another might lower you mpg by 1-2%.

*Replace air filters when they are clogged, this can improve gas mileage by over 10%.

*Combine all your errands into one trip as to reduce unnecessary gas consumption.
