Has anyone ever gone secret shopping? Is it a good way to save money? I mean I've heard stories that you get to keep what you buy and you get paid to do that. Thats a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

I was a secret shopper for a little while before I got my first real job. I was literally being paid 20$ a trip, which isn't bad for only being 20 years old. (Yeah I know, I was spoiled so I didn't have to work till a later age.) You have to pay all your transportation costs, I biked everywhere so I got the full 20$. I got to keep relatively few things, mostly food items. All the hype you hear about making loads of money, you wont. It's a part time job strictly.

Bansker is it true that some companies make you pay to be able to shop with them or is that just a scam?
