About Us

Spartansaving.com was established on August the 18th 2007, with the goal of helping the average family save money at home. Every tip on this website has a monetary value (in American dollars) that will help you understand how much money you could save by following any of these tips.

The electricty prices used are from the national American average. The prices of water are also from the national American average. So depending on your location you could save much more then what is shown, or less. In some places in California energy prices can be as high as .20$/KwH while in the middle states it can be as low as .07$/KwH. So use these prices as a guide.

While some of the tips may only show you that you could save 1-3$/Yr, you must remember that water is quite cheap for us but that doesn't mean we should waste it. Many people are not fortunate to have running water at their homes and thus there is no reason for us to waste ours at their expense. The same goes with electricity. While the savings may not seem as much, you do, however, reduce the amount of Green house gases. So it may not seem like your saving much, but there is more then just money at stake.

The name comes from Spartan's, who were known to live a simple and frugal life. By no means were the Spartan's miserable with their frugality as they rose to become the most educated and healthy beings in the Greek empire, woman and man alike.
