*Wrap your water heater with insulation blanket to lessen the amount of heat lost. This can save 25$/Yr.
*Switch to CFL's. A regular 100watt incandescent light bulb has a life of 700 hours, while a 27watt CFL (which emits the same amount of light as a 100watt incandescent) has a life of 10 000 hours. If you switch 4 60W incandescents with 4 13W CFL's you can save 35.8$/Yr.
*Lower the water heaters temperature to 110 -120 degrees. This can save 30$/Yr.
* Don't leave lights on when not in use, if you do then use a dimmer. Some CFL's now can be bought that have dimming settings on them. Do not use dimmers on regular CFL's.
* Use only full loads in the dryer and washer. This can save anywhere from 40-110$/Yr.
Total Savings : 165.8$/Yr.
